Oregon: photography workshop

As a former teacher, my years still seem to start in September and end in June.  It's true of weddings too.  Our season in Florida runs from the end of September through December, then March through June.  I wanted to make sure I started fresh for this season, so it was off to Oregon and Breitenbush Hot Springs for a workshop with Doug Beasley.  Talk about refreshing!  I stayed in a little cabin without plumbing, practiced yoga, went hiking in old growth forests, soaked in the hot springs, and chowed at the vegetarian buffet.  I really enjoyed getting to know Doug (an extremely talented fine art photographer) and my fellow participants, and rediscovering the joy of photography.  My husband Paul joined me for the last day and then we took a drive up back roads to Mount Hood, along the Columbia River Gorge, and into Portland for the weekend.  Not to miss: Portland Farmers Market and Cacao.

I saw some Fall leaves too!
